We are exited to offer a new consumer finance option that works in partner with Napa Auto Care program. Here is a brief synopsis of how it works. A consumer wants some time to pay for those un-expected repairs, or a large maintenance service. Simply fill out a online application, and once approved -response is very quick. As long as the finance amount is larger than $300.00 then the consumer has 6 months to pay this off. Making a min monthly payment, and as long as the total is paid in full by the end of the term, then no interest charge will occur. And as a bonus the plan extends the already industry leading 2 year 24 month warranty to 3 years, 36 month on the repair service financed. This makes purchasing that needed set of tires much easier! Stop in or call, and talk to our staff about how we can help you get your vehicle repaired and some time to pay for it as you can

In an age where money and budgets are tight, we all want to get the biggest bang for our buck…right? In this post I want to drive home the fact the cheaper is not always better. Also See: government bid process. A good friend of mine always used to say, ” you can’t beet a man at his own game” . Meaning, if you need drywall done, have a drywall professional do it. It will be done right and you will save time, money and be happy in the end. Some people want the pride in doing the job them selves. That is OK. Do it for that reason. So you are wondering, where are you going with this post Chum? And here it is. I will tell you a story , changing names of course, to protect those involved. The story is about a family with a old “beater” truck. The kind that dose not get used a lot. But it did let them down, just when it was really needed. It was when one of the kids wanted to move stuff to college. The reason the truck let them down is that it had to be towed in. The reason it wa ... read more

It is July 4th already, and we seem to be entering into a long HOT dry spell. If you are like most people you vehicles A/C system is very important. Here at Chumbleys we here to help! We just purchased a new state of the art Bosch A/C recover and recycle machine. Now with two machines to keep up with the high demand we can process A/C repair faster then before. I thought I would share some tips to keep your vehicles cabin a little cooler. As no one is particularly patient when it comes to passenger compartment cool down in hot weather. We’re all impatient in today’s society. We want it now! So, when the inside of our car is hot we are also cranky. You know how it goes, you start the engine, hit Max A/C and turn the blower up to High expecting to get hit with a blast of icy-cold air. Lots of luck! In most cases, the blast will be something out of a Sahara storm, and it will continue until all the hot air is blown out of the HVAC case. A few cars have Automatic Temperature C ... read more

Some of my best childhood memories, are loading up us kids, toys and snacks in the family station wagon and heading out on the great American highways. We knew it would be several long boring hours on the road until Dad stopped at some Hotel, hopefully with a nice swimming pool, that us kids could use to burn off some stored up energy. Then the next day we finally would reach a destination that Dad had picked to share with us. I remember the time we stopped at Mt Rushmore during dense fog, just long enough for Dad to point up to the fog filled sky and say “Its up there some where”…. OK load up, lets go ! Family road trips are a big part of summer, and a big part of road trips is the vehicle you are driving. We feel, that it is important to make sure that your “family truckster” is ready for the task of hauling your loved ones over the hills and through the woods. At Chumbleys Auto Care, we think of road trip maintenance along the lines of several things. Here is a short in ... read more

Here it is! My first ‘Blog” from Chumbleys Auto Care. To be honest, I am a bit nervous about just writing and not knowing who is reading. So if I ramble on, or seem lost, bare with me. My plan is to advise our customers of industry trends, new technology we have been updated on, and or tools / equipment we acquire. So before I focus on the “new,” I will recap on some past events and/or noteworthy items to bring you up to speed. Well, not to toot our own horn, but I am very proud of the shop staff, as we were given the prestigious award (one of three in Iowa) of chosen for the AAA motor clubs “Top Shop” award. This award is presented to shops that meet AAA stringent criteria. They have to have a customer satisfaction score of 93 or higher (ours was 98). We then received a Top Shop award from a web site called repairpal.com. The thing I like about AAA, and the Repairpal.com award is the fact that they: 1) seek and review our customers feedback about their service experience; 2) H ... read more
