Just about each year for the past 10+ years, in early March we enjoy taking part of the Automotive Service Associations Midwest “Vision” Show. The reason we like this event is it gives us a chance to get out of town, and go to the big city of Overland Park KS – suburb of K.C. Mo. Then at Vision we meet some of the Industries great minds. They come in the form of great technicians, and great trainers teaching us new methods to Analyze a vehicles issues more accurate and faster than before. They also have a killer trade show that features the latest products. It is always a good time for us and promotes good team building.
This year ( 2013) was particularly good for us , as back in January we entered our shop for the consideration of ”Facility of the year”. This is a award that spotlights a shop that is just a great bunch of people that are trying to do there best and build up the public image of our industry. To qualify , the shop must not be part of a chain, or franchise. Some of the questions are for example.
What is your CSI rating? CSI is also known as Customer Satisfaction Index. For 2012 we enjoyed a AAA rating of 100%. Other questions were things like, how many ASE certified techs do you have? What type of training do they take through out the year? What industry positions have you held in the industry. What kind of community involvement do you do? Well we must have answered all the questions correct, because on the awards night we were honored to be the recipient of the “ASA Midwest Facility of 2013 Award”. Speaking for myself and staff we were all very proud to go up on stage, and be presented with the award that night. Just a little ole gas station in Indianola, Iowa was good enough to be recognized by one of the industries top group of leaders.
